TERNATE - Ternate Basarnas in North Maluku found a fisherman from Morotai Island Regency who was reported missing while going to sea in the waters

The fisherman named Mahmur Songa (75) was found weak.

"According to reports in the field, the joint SAR team found the victim in good health but slightly weakened," said Head of Basarnas Ternate, Fathur Rahman when contacted, Monday, August 28, as quoted by Antara.

Fathur said the joint SAR team had been searching since Sunday 27 August at around 15:25 WIT.

Approximately 4 hours of searching, at 18.20 WIT, the joint SAR team managed to find victims around the waters of Army Dock, Darame Village or about 2 NM South.

The victim was then evacuated to his residence in Pandanga Village to be handed over to his family.

According to the victim's statement, he left by boat. However, bad weather that approached made the victim take shelter on Zum Zum Island at 03.00 WIT on Saturday, August 26.

Only at 08.00 WIT, the victim continued to row to Dock Army Island and finally the victim was found by the joint SAR team.

With the victim found, the SAR operation was declared complete and closed. All elements involved were returned to their respective units.
