Kajari Samarinda Regarding The Work Of Gakkumdu Intelligence: Identification And Inventory Potential Election Crimes

SAMARINDA - The Samarinda District Attorney (Kejari) is ready to make the 2024 General Election a success through the Integrated Law Enforcement Center (Gakkumdu) consisting of three elements, namely the Attorney General's Office, Bawaslu, and the police, to create effectiveness in handling general election crimes.

"Gakkumdu was formed with the aim of overseeing the election process so that it runs well and in accordance with applicable regulations, because with the unity of these three elements, anticipation and prosecution can be carried out quickly," said Head of the Samarinda District Attorney's Office (Kajari) Firmansyah Subhan in Samarinda, Sunday.

The Gakkumdu Center is an embodiment of the implementation of Law Number 7 of 2023 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulations, a substitute for Law Number 1 of 2022 concerning Amendments to Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections to the junto Law of Bawaslu Regulation Number 3 of 2023 concerning the Integrated Law Enforcement Center for General Elections.

Based on this legal umbrella, it becomes the basis for the formation of the Gakkumdu Center which is the center of law enforcement activities for election crimes from the central to regional levels, as a forum for equating understanding in the handling of election crimes which are carried out in one roof in an integrated manner.

The joining of the prosecutor's office in the Gakkumdu Center is a manifestation of the implementation of the dominus litis principle owned by the Prosecutor's Office, namely the Prosecutor's Office as the controller of the case that determines whether or not a criminal case can be prosecuted in court is the absolute authority of the Prosecutor's Office.

Kasi Intel Kejari Samarinda Erfandy Rusdy Quiliem Firmansyah added, from these three unified elements, it will be able to make the law enforcement process faster, more effective and efficient, so that the 2024 General Election can run according to the KPU Samarinda stage, which is an extension of the Central KPU.

"The Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia in his mandate at the commemoration Ceremony of the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia has ordered all levels of the Indonesian Attorney General's Office, especially in the field of Intelligence, to be able to carry out mapping potential threats, disturbances, obstacles and challenges (AGHT) as a form of early detection and prevention," said Erfandy.

All intelligence ranks are ordered to take strategic steps in order to create election implementation in accordance with the principles, statutory provisions, and coordinate with related parties.

"Collaboration with related parties is intended to identify and inventory all forms of potential election crime, both before, during, or after the election, through activities at the Prosecutor's Election Post," said Erfandy.

Through this post, it is hoped that it can reduce the potential for a minimum election crime so that honest, fair and transparent elections can be achieved.
