KPK Prevents 3 People From Going Abroad In Corruption Cases Of The Ministry Of Manpower

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has asked the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) to prevent three people from leaving the country. This prevention is related to the corruption case of the Indonesian labor protection system (TKI) at the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker).

"It will be carried out for the next six months until February 2024", said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Thursday, August 24.

Ali did not specify who was prevented from leaving the country. He only said investigators could extend the effort as needed.

"The second extension can be carried out according to the needs of the investigative team," he said.

Furthermore, these prevented parties will be summoned for questioning regarding the corruption case at the Ministry of Manpower. They are expected to be cooperative because the information is needed.

"KPK reminds the parties in question to always be cooperative in attending to fulfill the summons of the investigation team," said Ali.

As previously reported, the KPK said that there were three suspects named in the corruption case at the Ministry of Manpower. Although the anti-corruption commission has not yet submitted, the Secretary of the Planning and Development Agency of the Ministry of Manpower I Nyoman Darmanta is reportedly involved.

The value of the information system procurement project that is suspected to be the result of the perpetrators reached around Rp. 20 billion. Deputy Chairman Alexander Marwata said that this system was allegedly corrupted until it could not be used to monitor migrant workers.

"Those who can only use computers to type and so on. However, the system itself is not running," he said to reporters in Jakarta, Thursday, August 24.
