JAKARTA - Hundreds of residents of Jalan Gang Kober, Petojo Selatan Village, Gambir District, Central Jakarta were forced to lose their homes after the flames devoured their homes in a short time. Affected residents began visiting the fire evacuation post on Wednesday, August 23, at around 23.15 WIB.

Gambir Sub-district Head Andri Ferdian said the residents affected by the fire were in RW 08, South Petojo Village.

"The number of residents affected by the fire was 574 people from 196 families. There were 4 RTs that caught fire, including RT 02, 03, 04 and 05 in RW 08," Andri said when confirmed by VOI, Wednesday, August 23, evening.

Andri further said that there were no casualties as a result of the fire.

"(victims) While nil. The cause of the fire is still under investigation," he said.

Meanwhile, hundreds of residents affected by the fire were temporarily placed in the courtyard of the Al Fauz Mosque located at the Central Jakarta City Government (Pemkot) office.

"The evacuation post for victims affected by the fire at the Al - Fauz Mosque," he said.

Social assistance to fire victims such as food and drinks has begun to be distributed by the Central Jakarta Social Sub-dept.

"Information from Kasudin is being prepared," concluded Andri.

Residents' settlement on Jalan Gang Kober, South Petojo Village, Gambir District, Central Jakarta caught fire on Wednesday, August 23. The fire began to burn at around 20.20 WIB.
