JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya is investigating a case of alleged fraud with a romance mode like the film 'The Tinder Swindler'. Two people have been victims.

"Currently we are carrying out a series of investigation efforts by the investigation team of the Cyber Sub-Directorate of the Polda Metro Jaya," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak to reporters quoted on Wednesday, August 23.

From the results of the interim investigation, the perpetrator, who is said to be abroad, committed fraud by approaching his victim through a dating application.

After the relationship between the perpetrator and the victim is close, then deadly seduction is sent. In the end, the victim was deceived and handed over some money.

"So the entrance was originally departing from the dating application, then getting acquainted getting closer, then making intensive communication through DM like that, then establishing an effective close relationship between the victim and the suspect," he said.

"Then that's where the perpetrator carried out the fraud by persuasion, seduction, which in the end the victim was attracted to the lure and seduction, then handed over some money to the perpetrator," continued Ade.

Regarding the amount of losses the two people who have reported, Ade has not submitted it in detail. The reason is that the nominal can continue to increase because it is strongly suspected that there are other victims who have not reported.

So far, it is only emphasized if the deepening process continues until it later leads to the perpetrators.

"We are still investigating, it is possible that there are other victims related to this, investigation efforts are still being carried out optimally," said Ade.
