Not Participating In The Ceremony Of The 78th Anniversary Of The Republic Of Indonesia, 36 Lurah And Camat In Kendari Deactivated

A total of 34 lurah and 2 sub-district heads in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) were temporarily disabled because they did not attend the RI 78th birthday (HUT) ceremony on August 17, 2023.

A total of 36 village heads and sub-district heads also underwent examination at the Kendari City Inspectorate to immediately receive disciplinary sanctions from the Acting Mayor of Kendari, after not participating in the ceremony of the 78th Indonesian Independence Day.

Head of the Kendari City Inspectorate, Sri Yusnita, said that the 36 sub-district and village heads were temporarily relieved of their duties to undergo an examination after not attending the RI 78th Anniversary ceremony.

Dozens of village heads and sub-district heads were examined for reasons of absence from the ceremony and the lowering of the independence flag during the 78th Indonesian Independence Day at Kendari City Hall.

"We did a BAP (investigation report), why not attend the ceremony, so we checked the reasons for their absence," said Sri Yusnita in her statement, Monday, August 21.

On average, the reason these village heads and sub-district heads did not participate in the event was due to illness and held a 17th or August competition in their respective environments.

According to Sri, one of the violations of dozens of sub-district heads and village heads is discipline and national insight as state officials. Yusnita said that the national insight of these government apparatus had faded.

However, said Sri Yusnita, the village head and sub-district head who claimed to be sick must be proven by a certificate from a doctor or health facility.

Currently, his party is compiling a report on the results of the examination to be sent to the Acting Mayor of Kendari, Asmawa Tosepu.
