BANDUNG - Hundreds of residents in two villages in the Ngamprah and Cipaat sub-districts, West Bandung Regency, West Java, received water assistance for dozens of tanks and hundreds of thousands of liters of clean water to two districts/cities affected by drought due to the El Nino phenomenon.

120.000 liters of clean water has been distributed at several points and has been distributed to five villages in West Bandung and Sukabumi Regency by non-governmental organizations of Golden Future Indonesia.

"Dropping this clean water is gradual and the rest will follow. The distribution of clean water can slightly ease the burden on people affected by drought," said Head of the Rizkya Program Division, Insan Kamil, in a statement received in Jakarta, Sunday.

The beneficiaries feel greatly helped by the assistance of clean water. At least in the next month they will have no trouble with clean water anymore.

Khaeriyah, a resident of Pakuhaji Village, Ngamprah District, Bandung Regency, said he was happy and grateful to receive clean water assistance from Golden Future Indonesia.

"Alhamdulillah, with this assistance we were helped," he said.

The drought disaster in Indonesia in 2023 hit several areas of the country. The clean water crisis occurred because the majority of the residents' wells that were sources of clean water had dried up, so they finally had to buy water for their daily needs.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) stated that drought was one of the impacts of the El Nino phenomenon that occurred in Indonesia until mid-July 2023, 63 percent of Indonesia's territory had entered the dry season.

BMKG predicts that the new rainy season will occur around November after the dry dry dry dry season decreases in intensity in October.

Head of BMKG Dwikorita Karnawati said the peak of the dry dry dry dry dry season occurred in mid-August to September with an increasing heat intensity.

The weather phenomenon of El Nino is still happening. It even peaked in October-November. On the other hand, Indonesia benefited from the arrival of the rainy season from November.
