JAKARTA - The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) Belgrade, celebrates the 78th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Indonesia by holding a humanitarian action when Serbian blood banks experience a shortage of blood reserves.
The commemoration of the 78th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence on August 17, 2023 at the Indonesian Embassy in Belgrade was led directly by Indonesian Ambassador Mochammad Chandra Widya Yudha, followed by Indonesian citizens in the country, while the raising of flags in the commemoration ceremony was carried out by Indonesian children there.
After the ceremony, the Indonesian Embassy in Belgrade held a series of people's parties, sports competitions, culinary festivals to awards for celebration participants in the best national clothes, to enliven the Indonesian Independence Day this time.
In addition to the activities above, the Indonesian Embassy in Belgrade also held humanitarian activities in the form of blood donors attended by Indonesian citizens in Serbia.
The Indonesian Embassy in Belgrade said this was a form of real concern for the Indonesian people in Serbia, paying attention to the blood supply in Serbian blood banks which is currently decreasing drastically.
"On August 14, 2023, the Serbian Blood Transfusion Institute said that the blood stock in Serbia is only sufficient for one day's reserves," said Indonesian Ambassador at Belgrade Mochammad Chandra Widya Yudha, in a statement from the Indonesian Embassy in Belgrade as quoted on August 19.
"In response to this, the Indonesian Embassy in Belgrade facilitates blood donation activities as a tangible form of humanitarian support in the spirit of commemorating the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day, as well as raising awareness from various parties in Serbia to donate blood," he continued.
