On The Celebration Of The 78th Anniversary Of The Republic Of Indonesia, Mayor Eri Cahyadi Invites Surabaya Residents To Fight Poverty

JAKARTA - Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi invited the citizens of the City of Heroes, East Java, to fight against poverty on the commemoration of the 78th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.

"Right now, the struggle of the City of Surabaya is how to alleviate poverty, unemployment and ignorance. That is the meaning of independence in today's era," said Mayor Eri while acting as inspector of the 78th Indonesian Independence Day ceremony at Taman Surya, Surabaya, quoted from Antara, Thursday, August 17.

The RI 78th Anniversary ceremony was attended by around 1,786 participants. They consist of the Surabaya City Forkopimda, regional heads of apparatus (PD) within the city government as well as conjens and consuls in the city of Surabaya.

In addition, invited guests from various agencies, religious leaders, veterans to other general public were also present.

Mayor Eri invites all elements in Surabaya to close ranks. Because, the challenges and threats of unity in the future can come from anywhere.

"That is what we must maintain, our unity to form a prosperous archipelago," said Cak Eri, his nickname.

Cak Eri admitted that he had inaugurated 1,159 of the 1,360 neighborhood units (RW) that had been repaired.

Cak Eri hopes that in the future the RW hall will not only be a gathering place but can become a center for community activities, such as being used for great parental schools (SOTH), studying and studying together to family learning centers (Puspaga).

In addition, Cak Eri also advised all state civil servants (ASN) within the Surabaya City Government to continue to provide the best service for the people in Surabaya.

Moreover, he said, ASN has been sworn in to provide the best service, not for personal or group interests. According to him, the struggle in the city of Surabaya is still long.

"While in Surabaya there is poverty, ignorance, unemployment, stunting and so on, then our struggle has never stopped. Our struggle has never been stag (stopped), but we have to fight for it all," he said.
