Inspired By Jokowi, Dani Arwanto From North Jakarta Wins Kalpataru

JAKARTA - Dani Arwanto (49) won the Kalpataru award in the environmental pioneer category in 2023. He admitted that he was inspired by President Joko Widodo who inundated the agenda to go directly to various places to review the potential and challenges that need to be explored from that place.

"Alhamdulillah, I received an invitation to attend the RI Anniversary ceremony at the Palace. If I meet the President later, I will tell him that since he was still governor (DKI Jakarta) until now it has inspired me," said Dani, quoted from ANTARA, Thursday, August 17.

Dani said he was inspired by Jokowi's leadership style, which inundated the agenda to go directly to various places so that a comprehensive work plan was made in the future.

"That's one way he will design the work concept in the future. Likewise, I as the Head of RT 07 / RW01 Tugu Utara, conceptualizing our environment as well," said Dani.

Because he imitated Jokowi, Dani was able to work hand in hand with residents to turn the slum village of the coast of North Jakarta into a comfortable residence full of green plants along the way.

Dani also pioneered the formation of the Cemara 1 Green Gang Farmers Group (Cemara Farm) in his environment.

On June 5, 2023, this figure was rewarded with the Kalpataru award, because his services mobilized local residents to maintain the environment and forestry in Indonesia.

Through urban farming activities in Cemara Green Gang Climate Village 001 North Tugu, the Head of RT07 at RW01 Tugu Utara, Koja, North Jakarta managed to overcome social, cultural and environmental problems in metropolitan areas that were geographically vulnerable to the impact of climate change.

The 2023 Kalpataru Award was handed over directly by the Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya Bakar at the Manggala Wanabakti Building, Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), Jakarta, Monday (5/6), based on the Decree of the Minister of Environment and Forestry Number SK.545/MENLHK/PSKL/PSL.3/5/2023 dated May 25, 2023 regarding the 2023 Kalpataru Award.

Feelings of pride and joy mixed into one, because what the management and residents of RW 01 Tugu Utara, Koja, North Jakarta have resulted in the Kalpataru award and had the opportunity to meet with a number of other figures, including the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono.
