MAKASSAR - The investigation team in the Special Criminal Investigation Unit (Pidsus) of the South Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office searched the South Sulawesi Education Office and seized a number of documents related to alleged corruption in the procurement of a digital library on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, Tamalanrea District, Makassar.

"This search and seizure is part of the investigators' efforts to collect the necessary evidence in the investigation process," said Assistant Special Criminal Prosecutor of South Sulawesi Rachmat Supriady after the search was reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 17.

The search operation by the Pidsus Team was carried out since the morning, which was focused on the High School (SMA) Department room at the Disdik office.

According to him, this legal step was carried out as part of a series of investigations into alleged acts of corruption in the procurement of the Digital Library (Bookless Library) for the 2022 Fiscal Year.

The investigation team secured and seized important documents related to the case, including documents related to activity planning, procurement contract documents, financial documents including the Payment Order for Funds (SP2D) and the Responsibility Letter (SPJ) for spending and other supporting documents.

He emphasized that this search and seizure was carried out for the sake of evidence in the investigation process to reveal the alleged corruption crime that occurred.

"This seized evidence is needed for investigation, so that the case can be revealed comprehensively in accordance with applicable laws," he said.

So far, the Pidsus investigation team of the South Sulawesi Regional Attorney's Office continues to investigate the roles of the parties involved, tracing all documents obtained, and tracking the flow of funds related to the procurement project.
