UK MI-6 Called Preparing Ukrainian Sabotage Groups To Operate In Africa

JAKARTA - The British foreign intelligence agency (MI-6) is said to be preparing a sabotage force consisting of 100 Ukrainian nationalist militants to carry out operations in Africa, according to military diplomatic sources.

"According to information, confirmed by several sources, the British special service MI-6 has formed and prepared sabotage and assassination forces on the African continent, consisting of members of Ukraine's nationalist and neo-Nazi groups, in an effort to prevent cooperation between African and Russian countries," the source said., reported TASS August 16.

According to the source, the Kyiv government assigned the national security agency SBU, the military intelligence agency GUR and the Ministry of Defense in July, to help MI-6 and SAS select 100 militants from the Ukrainian nationalist group that has extensive combat experience on the east front lines.

It said the instruction was given at a request from London, without further explanation.

"The task of Ukrainian troops, formed by the British special service, is to carry out sabotage attacks at infrastructure facilities in Africa and kill African leaders targeting cooperation with Russia," the source said.

"Lieutenant Colonel GUR [President Directorate of Intelligence] of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense V. Prushchuk was appointed commander of the troops," the source added.

It is known, Vitaly Prushchuk was born in the Vinnitsa Region, Ukraine, in 1980. He participated in the conflict in the Donetsk and Lugansk Regions in 2014-2016 as commanders of the sabotage and reconnaissance forces.

In 2015, Prashchuk entered the 73rd Maritime Operations Center and became a member of the service of the Ukraine Ministry of Defense's Main Intelligence Directorate until 2017. He participated in a joint UK GUR and intelligence operation in Zimbabwe.

Prashchuk retired from active duty in 2019. Later, he was elected as a member of Ukraine's parliament, Verkhovna Rada. When Russia's special operations in Ukraine began, he was a spare GUR officer.
