Application For Pretrial 1 West Sumatra Bunting Cattle Corruption Suspect Rejected!

The Corruption Court Judge at the Padang District Court (PN) rejected the pretrial of the FAP suspect in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of Bunting cattle which was estimated to cost the state Rp7.3 billion.

"The judge has held a verdict hearing, he rejects the pretrial application submitted by the applicant," said Padang Juandra Public Relations Officer (PN) in Padang, West Sumatra, Monday, August 14, confiscated by Antara.

Responding to the decision, the Assistant for Special Crimes at the West Sumatra Prosecutor's Office, Haliman, said that his party welcomed and respected the decision from the Court.

"With the rejection of the suspect's pretrial, we will then focus on continuing the process of investigating the case," he said.

Haliman explained that the investigation process, the determination of suspects, and the use of internal auditors carried out by the Prosecutor's Office in that case were in accordance with the regulations.

For the material of the case, he explained that so far there have been six suspects named as investigators in the case, including FAP.

The suspects were charged by the prosecutor with Article 2 paragraph (1), Juncto (Jo) Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.

He explained that the case began when the West Sumatra Animal Husbandry and Health Service procured 2,082 flowering cows.

The procurement of disbursed cows was rolled out by the local provincial government with the aim of increasing the population of livestock in West Sumatra, even in the initial contract the sound of cows must be imported from outside West Sumatra.

The project, with the name the provision of seeds or livestock seeds and green animal feed, was carried out in the 2021 fiscal year with a ceiling of IDR 35,017,340 billion.

In detail, as many as 1,572 local cattle and 510 crossing cows were poured into five work contract packages, and carried out by four different companies.

However, on the way, it turned out that there was a change in the contract (adendum) to replace the cow, which at first was a pregnant cow to become a virgin cow.

"The cows were also purchased in the West Sumatra area, this action of course thwarted the government's mission to increase the population of livestock. We even found indications of price inflation," said West Sumatra Kajati Asnawi when interviewed earlier.
