Last 8 Months, 1,813 Noisy Exhausts Confiscated By Solo Police

SOLO - Surakarta City Police have arrested 1,813 vehicle violators who are still desperate to use non-factories standard exhaust (brong) at several points in the Solo area, Central Java, from January to August 2023.

"The Samapta Unit of the Surakarta Police secured 13 motorbikes who were still desperate to use a noisy or Brong exhaust on Jalan Ir. Juanda Jebres, Solo City, Saturday night," said Head of Samapta Polresta Surakarta Kompol Arfian Riski Dwi Wibowo, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, August 13.

The Surakarta Police until July 2023 secured as many as 1,800 Brong exhaust units. Now there are 13 non-standard exhaust units, bringing the total to 1,813 Brong exhaust units confiscated.

The Surakarta Police Sat Samapta Team held a patrol of the regional circle in order to maintain the Surakarta City harkamtibmas. Officers targeted two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicle drivers who used exhausts with noisy or incompatible with specifications.

The patrol team received information that many motorbikes used Brong exhaust on Jalan Ir. Juanda Jebres disturbed other road users.

Receiving this information, the officers went straight to the location and managed to secure 13 units of two-wheeled vehicles using a Brong exhaust.

"All the motorbikes caught in the raid were detained and handed over to the Surakarta Police Traffic Unit for follow-up," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Surakarta Police, Kombes Pol. Iwan Saktiadi confirmed that the total number of vehicles that violated the use of noisy exhausts in Solo until August was 1,813 units.

The vehicle, he said, was grounded for disturbing people from using other roads.

However, said Iwan Saktiadi, the number of noisy exhaust violations in Solo has decreased day by day because his party is also conducting socialization about traffic order.

Nevertheless, Iwan Saktiadi appealed to the public not to use Brong exhausts because this exhaust greatly disturbs the peace of the people of Solo City.

"The Brong exhaust is often a complaint from the public because they act at night until the early hours of the morning," he said

The Surakarta Police will not tolerate motorists who use this Brong exhaust. The police will take firm action and the secured motorized vehicle will be grounded.
