Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi stated that the Ministry of Communication and Information he leads is ready to ward off hoax content to radicalism in the digital space ahead of the 2024 General Election.

This step was taken by the Ministry of Communication and Information to ensure a productive and healthy 2024 election for the people of Indonesia.

"We will discuss with many parties to discuss which ones are hoaxes, which contain narratives of radicalism," Budi said in a press release, Thursday, August 10, which was confiscated by Antara.

He is committed to preparing coordination across ministries and institutions so that negatively charged content does not damage peace in the digital space ahead of the 2024 democratic party.

One of them is for handling radicalism content, Budi prepared coordination and discussions with the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag).

"Later, I will meet with the Ministry of Religion to discuss this, if necessary, we will also block it. Block steps so that this public space is healthier than hoaxes, from content that divides the nation," he said.

Furthermore, according to Budi, the essence of the election is to unite fellow nation's children and contribute to improving the quality of democracy.

He invites the public to take part and play a role in keeping a safe and healthy digital space by sharing positive content.

The government also promised to maintain digital space in a humane way so as to create a cool atmosphere ahead of the 2024 General Election.

"We have all taken approaches, including government measures to provide coolness in our digital space or social media," said Budi.

This is also in line with the public communication strategy prepared by the Ministry of Communication and Information for the 2024 General Election with the Peace Election campaign.

The Peaceful Election is a narrative for the 2024 General Election with the hope that the Indonesian people, especially the novice voters, who are dominated by generation Z, are asked not to be trapped by the explosion of political information.
