TNI Commander Orders Denpom To Examine A Major Who Brings Dozens Of Soldiers To Raid Medan Polrestabes

JAKARTA - TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono ordered his staff at the Kodam I/Bukit Barisan, especially the local military police (danpom) commander to examine his middle-ranking officers who came to the Medan Polrestabes to request a suspension of the detention of one of the suspects.

"Yes, yesterday I ordered the Danpom TNI to check immediately, I have ordered it later, we will examine those who did it, what is the name, yesterday we went to the Police to check what the problem was. Maybe yesterday was the first proof that they did that," said the TNI Commander, reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 7.

Yudo continued that the actions of his soldiers at the Medan Polrestabes did not represent an institution. He said it was a person.

"That's a person, not an institution name, including not on behalf of the Pangdam (Commander of the Military Region I/Bukit Barisan), not on behalf of the Kodam institution, but the Kumdam unit (Kodam Law). That's why, yesterday I ordered the Military Commander to immediately check, and the Danpuspom TNI to also back up to check," said Admiral Yudo.

He also considered the attitude of his soldiers at the Medan Polrestabes to be unethical.

"I think it's unethical for TNI soldiers to be like that," said the TNI Commander.

Because of that, Admiral Yudo asked all TNI soldiers to make the daily orders of the TNI Commander as a guide in behavior.

"There is that you know. There is already such an emphasis,” said Yudo.

He emphasized that the TNI will take firm action against its soldiers when they break the rules.

“So there is something like that, we immediately, there is no impunity, no cover-up, nothing. I have already said, we are firm if there are soldiers who commit violations," said Yudo Margono.

The raiding took place when a member of the Bukit Barisan Military Command, Major Dedi Hasibuan, together with several other TNI soldiers, came to the Medan Police Headquarters last Saturday (5/8) to request a suspension of the detention of a suspect with the initials ARH.

Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Regional Police Kombes Hadi Wahyudi explained that the arrival was aimed at coordination.

"That's right, he came to the Medan Polrestabes Criminal Investigation Unit to coordinate a request for a suspension of detention. One of the ARH suspects is the family of Major Dedi Hasibuan," Hadi said in his official broadcast, Sunday (6/8).

He said the arrival was a normal event.

"We, TNI-Polri, are solid, everything is always well coordinated. That the duty of the Police is as a servant to all parties," he said.
