The Police Arrest A Woman From Kalideres Who Butchers Cats To Eat

JAKARTA - The Kalideres Police Team, West Jakarta, arrested a woman from Jalan Jambu Air Pegadungan Kalideres, who is suspected of killing cats to be consumed.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for Kalideres Police, Police Commissioner Anggoro Winardi said that his party received the report on Saturday, January 30. From this report, the police immediately arrested the resident who was suspected of eating the cat meat.

"We immediately moved quickly on the same day and then brought the perpetrators to the police", said Anggoro as quoted by Antara, Monday, February 1.

These findings made a scene for local residents, then went viral on social media. Anggoro said that his party had conducted an examination of the head of the local neighborhood association, Mulyadih, as the owner of the cat that was killed and reported, and the suspected perpetrator.

According to the investigation, the perpetrator killed pet cats and stray cats around Maja Village RT08/02 Pegadungan, Kalideres to treat her husband for asthma.

"Indeed, there is confidence from her that her husband is somewhat better from asthma after eating cat meat", said Anggoro.

However, at the police station, the head of the neighborhood agreed not to proceed with the case, the reported did not sue, and his party made a peace statement and an agreement so that the perpetrator did not repeat her actions again.

"We have the police investigation report and the head of the neighborhood did not sue, so we made a peace declaration", he said.

Not wanting the same thing to happen again, the police also a cat from the suspect's house who was still alive as evidence.

The incident went viral when a video was uploaded on Instagram account @cat_lovers_in_the_world and the animal protection organization account @nathasatwanusantara.

According to information on the account, a woman was caught beating a cat to death to be boiled.

Natha Satwa Operations Director Anisa Ratna confirmed information from netizens who sent videos to her.

"The incident occurred at Jalan Jambu, Kalideres. The woman was caught by the residents beating cats and then collected them. Finally, she was interrogated by the residents", said Anisa.

However, Anisa said, her party is still looking for the first uploader of the video, then will report the incident to the authorities.

"The problem is that there are so many reporting parties, so it is difficult to ascertain who the first reporter was in direct contact with the woman", she said.
