Ma'ruf Amin: Islamic Boarding Schools Are Assets Of The Nation Printers Of Ulama

JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin emphasized that Islamic boarding schools are the nation's assets. This is the only place to produce scholars who can guide the people.

"This student is an asset of the nation," said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin quoting Antara.

The vice president said pesantren is the only place where scholars will be able to guide the people over all problems of the world.

"We can't lose the ulama. How to do that? Printing scholars through Islamic boarding schools. There are no scholars printed, not in the hut (pesantren), where is it. What is the embroidery place? Yes, no, yes, the ulama in this hut," explained Vice President Ma'ruf Amin.

He said one of the functions of pesantren is to prepare people who understand religion. Currently, said the Vice President, many people speak religion, but do not understand religion.

If pesantren does educate people who understand religion. Why do we need to educate, it's because the ulama do not always live. These scholars die one by one. The knowledge is carried, "explained the Vice President.

He stressed that if there is no knowledgeable cleric in the world, then people will choose stupid leaders, so they will become heretical and misleading people.

Therefore, the Vice President emphasized that the Indonesian nation must not lose the ulama as people who continue their duties.

Ulama is the heir to the prophet. The place is in the pesantren. If there is no pesantren, scholars will not give birth and there will be vacancies in ulama. This is one thing that should not happen," he said.

In addition, the Vice President conveyed that pesantren is also a place to give birth to people who can respond to various problems both in the world and in the hereafter. Because there are many new problems in the world that are not listed specifically in the book and must be responded to by ulama, such as economic problems and Islamic finance.

"Especially in the field of muamalah, in the economic sector, there are many new problems, new transactions that must be answered by ulama. And old problems that undergo a process of change, renewal, renewability, these must be born by scholars who have such abilities," said the Vice President.

He further conveyed the role of Islamic boarding schools other than as da'wah and educational institutions as also institutions that are tasked with empowering the community, so that the community can prosper the earth according to the orders of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

One of the efforts to prosper the earth is through economic development. Islamic boarding schools are required to provide an understanding of halal economic empowerment and in accordance with religious provisions.

"You have to build a society whose way of thinking is based on faith, this must be believed, it must be according to sharia, this is educated society to think like that, don't (the community) think that the results are halal or haram is not a problem. We have to build a society that is truly faith-oriented, so that they will survive in the world and the hereafter," asked Vice President Ma'ruf Amin.
