Now JakCard Cards Can Be Used To Pay Commuter Line KRL Tickets

JAKARTA - Bank DKI Regional Development Bank (BPD) is collaborating with PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) in implementing the use of JakCard on the Commuter Line train.

Now, the electronic money card (KUE) at the bank owned by the DKI Provincial Government can be used as payment for KRL tickets in Jabodetabek.

President Director of Bank DKI, Fidri Arnaldy explained, JakCard's acceptance as a KRL travel ticket is part of Bank DKI's efforts to strengthen the Electronic Money Card segment. Also, provide a non-cash transaction option for the community.

"Bank DKI is optimistic that electronic money transactions will increase as part of people's preferences in transactions easily, safely and comfortably," said Fidri in his statement, Friday, July 28.

Bank DKI's Director of Technology and Operations, Amirul Wicaksono, said that JakCard's service as payment for train tikers is an effort to expand JakCard's acceptance for the community. In particular, KRL users with high mobility.

"Through this implementation, Bank DKI is increasingly completing its services in realizing a non-cash transaction ecosystem in DKI Jakarta. This is also in line with Bank DKI's support in realizing the integration of public transportation payments in DKI Jakarta," said Amirul.

Currently, JakCard can be used as payment for various entrance tickets such as Ragunan Wildlife Park, National Monument, Ancol Dreamland Park, and various museums managed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

JakCard can also be used as a means of payment for toll roads such as Jagorawi, JORR, Bogor Outer Ring Road, urban toll roads to the Bali-Mandara toll road. For transportation ticket needs, JakCard can be used for Transjakarta tickets, Microtrans, MRT, Jakarta LRT, and Jabedebek LRT.

Based on the company's records, JakCard's use as of June 2022 was recorded at 2.5 million transactions, and as of June 2023, JakCard's total transactions were recorded at 5.1 million transactions or grew 104.86 percent year-on-year (YoY).

For additional information, the volume of Jabodetabek Commuter Line users from July 2023 to July 25 reached 19,370,263 people. Meanwhile, the average user on weekdays was 857,968 people per day and the average was 626,974 people on holidays and weekends per day, with the most users on Monday, July 3, which was 912,923 people.

Meanwhile, the number of Commuter Line Jabodetabek ticket payment transactions using a tap card (multi trip card and bank electronic money) is 95 percent of the total transactions. Meanwhile, transactions using a QR Code are 5 percent.
