The Gorontalo City Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Reskrim) arrested two suspected perpetrators of online gambling in the dark totok (togel) type. "One of them is suspected of playing a role as a dealer who has been operating for about a year," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Gorontalo City Police, Kompol Leonardo Widharta in Gorontalo, Antara, Thursday, July 27. He said the two residents who were detained were each woman with the initials RA (33) and a man AWS (27). Both are residents of East City District, Gorontalo City. "Both of them we secure in their respective homes. We get that this AWS is the dealer, and it has been operating for about a year," said Leonardo The arrests of the two residents were made based on information from the public who claimed to be restless with lottery gambling activities in the area. After receiving the complaint, Leonardo continued, his party immediately moved to conduct an investigation and went to their respective residences and managed to capture them. "This disclosure started with a report from residents who claimed to be restless with gambling activities. After we investigated it, it turned out to be true and we immediately secured both of them," he said. The evidence that was secured from RA's hands was a unit of Android phones and cash amounting to Rp294 thousand. Also one unit of Android phones along with cash amounting to Rp238 thousand from AWS's hands. "The cellphones and cash that we have secured are evidence that is strongly suspected of being related to online gambling," he said. He said that from the results of the interrogation, RA admitted that he had been running an online gambling business for two years. Meanwhile, AWS himself admitted that for about a year he had been an online bookie.

"Two people together with evidence are currently being secured at the Gorontalo City Police Headquarters for further investigation and investigation," he added.
