The Civil Service Police Unit of Belitung Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands, confiscated 4 illegal tin ore mining machines.

Head of Belitung Satpol PP, Hendri Suzanto, said the four machines were confiscated from the location of illegal tin ore mining activities on Jalan Kik Bujok, Perawas Village.

"We confiscated the four machines and transported them to the Belitung Satpol PP Mako," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 26.

According to him, the Belitung Satpol PP previously received reports from the public about illegal tin ore mining activities at the location.

His party followed up on the report by deploying a team to control the location.

"The reality in the field is that these illegal tin seed miners have damaged the shoulder of the road, we secure the engine and our miners will be sanctioned according to applicable regulations," he said.

Hendri said the miners had violated Belitung Regency Regulation Number 3 of 2014 concerning the Belitung Regency Spatial Plan for 2014-2034 and Belitung Regency Regulation Number 5 of 2014 concerning Public Order.

"With the imposition of administrative sanctions, they do not carry out mining at that location, if they do it again we will take firm action," he said.

He hopes that the miners will not return to their activities at the location because they are approaching the shoulder of the road, it is feared that the road will collapse and cannot be passed by the community.

"We also hope that miners will not damage assets and facilities or public facilities such as roads in that location," said Hendri.
