3 Crew Members Of KM Bina Sejati Critical Due To Solar Pump Explosion At Benoa Harbor

Denpasar City Police said three crew members (ABK) KM Bina Sejati suffered serious and critical injuries due to a solar pump explosion at the southern western Pier of Benoa Harbor, Denpasar, Bali.

Head of the Denpasar Police Public Relations Section AKP Ketut Sukadi said the three crew members who had the work accident were Riki (23), Nandar (31), Haryono (57).

"The victim suffered burns to his body and was immediately taken to the Bali Mandara Hospital for medical treatment," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 25.

Sukadi explained that the incident that happened to the three crew members occurred on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at around 09.30 WITA at the West Pier, the southern part of Benoa Harbor.

The ship is a fishing boat belonging to PT. AKFI/TKF which has been anchored at the west pier since Saturday, July 22, 2023 at around 10:00 WITA, with the crew of four, namely the three victims plus the captain named Saring (42).

According to Saring, who is the captain, the ship docked at the southern West Pier of Benoa Harbor after finishing carrying out the docking at the minareuki hospital in Benoa Harbor, Bali.

On Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at around 09.00 WITA on board the Bina Sejati ship, there was a radio repair by the company's mechanics with the captain, and there was also a company that was working to wash the ship's engine.

At that time, mechanics was about to take diesel in the hold of the ship using a dynamo pump to connect the electricity on the ship that was anchored next to it.

However, not until the diesel in the hold of the ship was suddenly raised, resulting in an explosion from the pump dynamo used to suck up the diesel.

As a result, the three victims who were near the pump dynamo were hit by an explosion. After that, the three were immediately taken to Bali Mandara Hospital using the Denpasar City BPBD ambulance.

The police have installed a police line on KM Bina Sejati which is still parked at Benoa Harbor.

The request for a visum et repertum has also been requested by the police. Until this news was revealed, there was no information regarding the condition of the victim's injuries.
