Ganjar Emphasizes The Importance Of Volunteers And Supporting Parties Focusing On Swing Voters

BOGOR - Swing Voters Regency is a term for rational voters who can change their choice according to ideas or ideas. The presidential candidate from the PDI-P Ganjar Pranowo invites volunteers and his supporting parties, namely the PDI-P, PPP, Hanura, and Perindo to target votes from voters who may still change their choices or swing of these voters.

"Let's move outside, don't just circle inside," said Ganjar at GOR Pakansari, Bogor Regency, West Java, Saturday.

Ganjar asked the volunteers and the supporting parties not only to be in his supporting environment.

He asked the organizers to withdraw the owner of the vote who had not yet determined their preferred presidential candidate.

"Who's outside? Only two. Who's going to switch to a swing voter? Moving from whom, then to us, we take that and that happens," said Ganjar as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, July 22.

On that occasion, Ganjar also invited his supporters to take advantage of the strength of the party which has been well consolidated.

"Let's use the strength of the party in a very good structure to the most basic level," he added.

According to the schedule set by the Indonesian KPU, the registration of prospective presidential and vice presidential candidates will start from 19 October to 25 November 2023.

Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections (UU Pemilu) regulates that pairs of presidential/vice-presidential candidates are proposed by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in elections that meet the requirements for obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the total number of seats in the DPR or obtaining 25 percent of valid votes nationally in the previous election for members of the DPR.

Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament so that the presidential/vice presidential candidate pair in the 2024 presidential election must have at least 115 seats in support from the Indonesian House of Representatives. Candidate pairs can also be promoted by political parties or a combination of political parties participating in the 2019 Election, with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
