DKI Provincial Government Targets JIS Renovation To Be Completed Before The U-17 World Cup

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is targeting the renovation of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) and additional access to the location to be completed before the U-17 World Cup event.

"Yes, there is a target. It must be before the World Cup," said Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono, Friday, July 21.

In addition, Heru said that currently the ranks of the Highways Office are coordinating with PT Jasa Marga Properti (JMP).

"If the renovation is related to those from the regional government, the Bina Marga Office is already running, it's almost finished. Stay with JMP to connect to the toll road," said Heru.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) will also add pedestrian bridges (JPO) on Jalan RE Marthadinatha and Kali Ancol.

"Yesterday when with the Minister there were several additional pedestrian bridges (JPO). In Ancol River, Jalan RE Martadinata," he said.

There are two (development schemes), namely by the central government and local governments. "Later we will divide the place anywhere," said Heru.

Previously, Heru hoped that JIS could be used to hold various events. That way, PT Jakarta Propertindo (JakPro) as the manager can get income so that it can pay off debts to the central government.

"Any activity can use JIS so that you get income, so that JakPro and local governments can return the installments," said Heru.

Heru said that repairs to facilities and infrastructure in the stadium area needed to be carried out so that the stadium could be suitable for use as a place for various events.
