KPK Finds Out Projects At The Ministry Of Transportation Through Expert Staff Of The Minister Of Transportation Budi Karya

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is still investigating allegations of corruption in the rail project. Five witnesses were summoned, one of whom is the expert staff of the Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi, Robby Kurniawan on Tuesday, July 18.

"The investigative team has finished examining witnesses," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters in a written statement, Thursday, July 20.

Apart from Robby, investigators also questioned Nur Setiawan, Anshari, Dandun Prakosa, Irvan Ariestana, and Rode Paulus Gaguk. The four of them are state civil servants (ASN) at the Ministry of Transportation.

"Witnesses were present and their knowledge was explored, among others, related to several procurement projects at the Ministry of Transportation, including determining the amount of the budget allocation," said Ali.

In this case, the KPK has named 10 suspects for alleged bribery related to the construction and maintenance of railway lines within the Directorate General of Railways at the Ministry of Transportation for the 2018-2022 Fiscal Year.

The six recipients were Director of Railway Infrastructure Harno Trimadi; Commitment Making Officer (PPK) of the Central Java Railway Engineering Center (BTP) Bernard Hasibuan; and Head of BTP Central Java Putu Sumarjaya.

Then there is also the PPK of the South Sulawesi Railway Management Center (BPKA) Achmad Affandi; PPK for Rail Infrastructure, Fadliansyah; and the West Java BTP (Jabagbar) PPK Syntheto Pirjani Hutabarat.

While the rest were bribe givers, namely the Director of PT Istana Putra Agung, Dion Renato Sugiarto; Director of PT Dwifarita Fajarkharisma, Muchamad Hikmat; Vice President of PT KA Management Properti, Parjono; and former Director of PT KA Management Properti, Yoseph Ibrahim.

The anti-corruption commission suspects that six officials from the Ministry of Transportation's DJKA received bribes worth Rp. 14.5 billion related to four railway projects in Indonesia.

The four projects suspected of being the bancakan are the Solo Balapan-Kadipiro-Kalioso Double railway line construction project; a railway line construction project in Makassar, South Sulawesi; four railway construction projects and two supervision projects in Lampegan Cianjur, West Java; and a project to repair the Java-Sumatra Crossing.
