After the accident, the Train Speed at the Madukoro Crossing in Semarang Was Still 20 KM/hour

SEMARANG - After the collision of the Brantas train with a truck, PT KAI Daop IV Semarang, Central Java has increased the speed of the trains passing at the Madukoro crossing, Semarang City on Wednesday 19 July.

Previously, trains traveling on the upstream route or from west to east at the Madukoro crossing were only allowed a maximum of 5 km/hour, now they are allowed to go up to 20 km/hour.

The decision was taken after the Madukoro crossing was previously repaired and maintained following the incident of the Brantas train which collided with a tronton truck last Tuesday night.

"Earlier, starting at 17.00 WIB, the speed of the trains passing at the Madukoro crossing was still 20km/hour," said Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop IV Semarang, Ixfan Hendri Wintoko quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, July 20.

Monitoring at Semarang's Tawang Station on Wednesday night, all trains departing from the Daop 4 Semarang area had departed on time, including arrivals from the west.

"The possibility of delays can be minimized at stations where water is filled. So that when they arrive in the Daop 4 area, the delays can disappear," explained Ixfan.

Meanwhile, due to the incident with the Brantas train that hit a tronton truck at the Madukoro crossing, currently the driver named Heru Susanto and kernet Saptoni are still undergoing questioning as witnesses at the West Semarang Police Headquarters.

Officers are currently investigating whether the tronton truck driver violated Law Number 22 of 2009 Article 19, regarding the division of road classes for trucks, which are divided into four, namely class I, II, III, and Special.

"We are still exploring this. We will find out what class of road the Madukoro Semarang road belongs to," said Head of the Semarang Police Traffic Unit, AKBP Yunaldi on Wednesday afternoon.
