Transjakarta Records Majority Of Bus Route Customers To Soetta Airport Earning Under IDR 5 Million

JAKARTA - PT Transjakarta noted that the majority of Transjakarta bus customers with the Kalideres Terminal route to Soekarno-Hatta Airport have an income of less than IDR 5 million per month.

This was revealed from the results of a survey conducted by Transjakarta on passengers during the pilot period of the bus route to the airport.

"Most of their service users earn less than IDR 5 million per month," said Director of Operations and Safety of PT Transjakarta Daud Joseph to reporters, Wednesday, July 19.

From the results of this survey, Joseph views that Transjakarta bus services entering Soetta help people save their transportation costs every day.

"So actually in terms of effectiveness during the trial, this is effective in serving airport area workers who are indeed in terms of the ability to pay for transportation costs is quite low," he explained.

Still from the survey results, Transjakarta noted that bus service customers to Soetta are airport workers, ranging from cargo terminal employees, restaurant employees, and warehousing workers at Soetta Airport.

However, it turns out that there are still airplane passengers who use this service. Although, Joseph acknowledged, the number is not large and they do not use this service every day.

"Did any passengers take this? It looks like it came from the goods and suitcases that were brought. But is it something consistent? It looks like if it is used once or twice, maybe yes, and we can't prevent that," Joseph explained.

"But if the airport passengers are usually not commuting, they don't use it every day. The one who uses it every day is the workers in the airport area," he added.

It is known that TransJakarta operates 10 low-deck (low entry) buses for the Soekarno Hatta-Terminal Kalideres Airport route with a passenger transport capacity of 2,500 people every day.

With a capacity of one bus of 60 passengers, in a day the TransJakarta bus bound for Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta) to Kalideres Terminal can carry up to 2,500 passengers.

The Transjakarta bus route from Kalideres Terminal to Soetta Airport starts operating with a headway every 20 minutes from 06.00 WIB to 09.00 WIB in the morning and at 18.00 WIB to 21.00 WIB at night. The average travel time from Kalideres to Soetta Airport is 45 minutes for one trip.
