Thugs Of Villages Threatening Women In Garut Arrested By Police, Perpetrators Have Been In Prison 4 Times

Garut Resort Police again arrested a recidivist village thug four times in prison after acting again to rob and threaten a woman in remote areas of Banjarwangi District, Garut Regency, West Java.

"He has been arrested, he has been in prison four times, namely twice for molesting people and twice for drug cases," said Banjarwangi Police Chief Iptu Amirudin Latif as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 13.

The perpetrator is a village thug with the initials D (32) who carried out threats and confiscation of goods belonging to two PT MBK Ventura employees who were crossing Cikoleang Village, Dangiang Village, Banjarwangi District.

The thugs, who have been in prison four times, he said, now have to deal with the police again because of their actions of carrying sharp weapons in the form of badik and air soft guns without permission and then being used to threaten victims.

"The perpetrator was finally arrested two hours after the incident, near his residence without a fight," said Amirudin.

He conveyed the results of the interim examination that the thugs carried out their actions because they wanted to eradicate moneylenders' activities, which he had considered had disturbed the public.

However, his actions, he said, could not be justified, let alone threatened using sharp weapons in public places, and also confiscated the victim's belongings.

"If you want to stop traveling bank activities, that's not how it is done, such a method is tantamount to thuggery for committing confiscation, threatening and even carrying weapons without permission," said Amirudin.

As a result of his actions, the perpetrator temporarily underwent legal proceedings at the Banjarwangi Police, before he would be transferred to the Garut Police and charged with multiple articles including Article 365 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Emergency Law No. 12 of 1951 with the threat of a sentence of more than 5 years in prison.

The thuggery was deliberately recorded using the victim's cell phone video, then the video of thugs threatening was spread on social media to become the talk of Garut residents.
