KALBAR - Military District Command (Kodim) 1205 Sintang built access roads connecting two villages in isolated hinterland in the Kayan Hulu District, Sintang Regency, West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan).

The commander of Kodim 125 Sintang Lieutenant Colonel Infantry Kukuh Suharwiyono said the road access he worked on was between Empakan Village and Nanga Ungai Village.

"In addition to building roads and bridges, we will also carry out social activities for free treatment and basic food assistance for the community," he said in Sintang, West Kalimantan, Wednesday, July 12, which was confiscated by Antara.

Kukuh said that the construction of road access in the two villages was carried out through the 177th Regular TNI Manunggal Building Village (TMMD) program.

The program is a form of cooperation and synergy with local governments and related parties, including the community.

Through the TMMD program, physical activities are carried out to build 8 kilometers of road access with 5 bridges and 10 culverts.

"There will be one kilometer of irrigation or ditch along the road which is indeed a location that requires ditches so that when it rains there is no puddle," explained Kukuh.

He hopes that the construction of this road access can bring benefits to the community, especially in facilitating access to market agricultural products from village to city.

The TMMD activity will be carried out for one month and TNI soldiers during this activity will live in residents' homes as a form of the unity of the TNI with the people.

"Our relationship with the community is strong, but with the existence of the TMMD, it is hoped that it will be more harmonious and we will understand what is the difficulty of the local community that we help," he said.
