Al Minhaj Islamic Boarding School Which Was Hit By The Case Of Obscenity Of 25 Santri Is Still Obligatory, The Freezement Is Waiting For The Batang District Court's Decision

JATENG - The Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) stated that teaching and learning activities at the Al Minhaj Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) will continue as usual.

The head of the Batang Regency Ministry of Religion, Akhmad Farkhan, said that the recommendation for freezing the Al Minhaj Islamic Boarding School activities could only be carried out if the trial of the sexual abuse case with the suspect Wildan at the Batang District Court had entered the decision stage.

"We are still waiting for a decision from the District Court which will have permanent legal force so that the recommendation to revoke the Islamic Boarding School permit at the Director General of Islamic Education can be carried out," he said in Batang, Friday, July 7, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said the teaching and learning process at the Al Minhaj Islamic Boarding School was carried out by students who were completing the final education stage. Furthermore, the students decided to move to the Al Minhaj Islamic Boarding School.

"The students are junior high and vocational students and are currently still completing the final stages. Currently, there are still students who are gradually (staying) at the boarding school and some choose not to stay," he said.

From the case that hit Al Minhaj Islamic Boarding School, Akhmad hopes that cases of sexual abuse in the Islamic boarding school will not happen again. According to him, this can be a shared lesson for Islamic boarding school caregivers.

"The number of Islamic boarding schools is around 70 and only one Islamic boarding school has stumbled upon the problem. So we assess that the boarding school environment is still safe for people to receive education," he said.

Head of the Intelligence Section of the Batang District Attorney's Office (Kejari), Ridwan Gaos Natasukmana, said that currently the suspect Wildan Mashuri Amin is officially a prosecutor's detainee who is now entrusted to the Class II B prison in Rowobelang Batang.

"After examination and research, the suspect was detained by the Public Prosecutor for 20 days starting from July 3, 2023 to July 22, 2023 at the Class II B Batang Prison," he said.

The detention, he said, was carried out after the Batang Kejari received the second phase of delegation in the form of suspects and evidence of cases of sexual abuse and/or sexual intercourse from the Batang Police investigators.

"As for the next stage, the public prosecutor immediately transferred the case files to the Batang District Court so that they can be tried immediately," he said.
