TANGERANG - The Tangerang City Government is still waiting for approval from Immigration, Customs and Excise and Port Health Office (KKP) Class 1 Soekarno-Hatta regarding the use of the Banten Hajj Dormitory in Cipondoh to welcome the return of the pilgrims.
"In principle, the Ministry of Religion agreed to welcome the pilgrims at the Cipondoh Hajj Dormitory, just waiting for the immigration clearance approval, the customs process and KKP can be completed at Soekarno Hatta Airport," said Tangerang City Regional Secretary Herman Suwarman in Tangerang, Antara, Tuesday, July 4.
The use of the Banten Hajj Dormitory has been discussed in a coordination meeting attended by the Head of the DKI Jakarta Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion, the Banten Regional Office Representative and also several representatives from the Soekarno-Hatta Immigration Office, the Regional Airport Authority Office 1 and the Soekarno-Hatta Port Health Office.
"Essentially, the Ministry of Religion approved that the Tangerang City Hajj Dormitory be used to welcome the repatriation of pilgrims. However, it is still waiting for approval of the clearance immunization process from customs, Immigration and KKP," he said.
Therefore, the Ministry of Religion will send a letter to related parties following up on the results of the coordination meeting.
"We are still waiting for a decision regarding the Customs Immigration & Quarantine (CIQ) from Customs and Excise, Immigration and KKP Soekarno-Hatta Airport," he said.
Head of the Regional Office of the DKI Jakarta Ministry of Religion, Cecep Khairul Anwar, also as chairman of the Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory, said that in principle PPIH agreed to the implementation of the 2023 Hajj return at the Tangerang City Hajj Dormitory.

For information, the repatriation of the Tangerang City Hajj pilgrims in 2023 is scheduled to start on Wednesday, July 5 with a total of 393 people.
