JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) announced the quota for the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage or 1445 Hijriah for Indonesia as many as 221,000 pilgrims.

The certainty of the quota was obtained after the Government of Saudi Arabia informed the amount of the hajj quota for 2024. This information was conveyed through a letter submitted by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia.

"The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has informed the 2024 hajj quota to a number of countries, including Indonesia. Next year, Indonesia's hajj quota will be 221,000 people," said Minister of Religion (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas in his statement, Monday, July 3, quoted by Antara.

The notification letter for the Hajj quota next year was given after Haflat al-Haj al-Kblackay 1444 H on June 30, 2023. The celebration of the completion of this pilgrimage took place at the Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in Mecca.

With the certainty of quotas for the implementation of the pilgrimage next year, the quota is the same as the implementation of this year's Hajj, which is 221,000 people. However, at the 1444 H/2023 AD, Indonesia received an additional quota of 8,000 people.

He explained that the Saudi Arabian government also announced the stages of organizing the 1445 H Hajj.

On June 30, 2023, namely the submission of work documents and the announcement of the 1445 H hajj quota, then September 16, 2023 preparation meetings, the opening of e-hajj for data input, the announcement of a list of companies that have obtained permits, the opening of flight contracts, account activation in e-hajj

On November 4, 2023, the completion of the preparation meetings and service packages will be continued on January 8, 2024, namely the imposium and exhibition of Hajj and Umrah services. On February 24, 2024, all accommodation and service contracts were completed by Masyair, on March 1, 2024, the initial visa issuance process

On April 29, 2024, the closure of e-hajj and the issuance of visas and May 9, 2024, the beginning of the arrival of prospective pilgrims.
