BANDUNG - Chairman of the Indonesian National Men's Foundation Pamriadi said the statue of the first President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Soekarno, at GOR and Taman Saparua, Bandung, West Java, will be the highest Bung Karno statue in Indonesia. "God willing, this year the Bung Karno Monument in Bandung will be the highest monument in Indonesia, perhaps the highest in the world. This will be a new icon in West Java," said Pamriadi in a statement received in Jakarta, Wednesday, June 28. Pamriadi said the construction of this statue was carried out in mutual cooperation, without using state or regional money. Dalam kesempatan tersebut, Sekretaris Jenderal DPP PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto bersama Gubernur Jawa Barat Ridwan Kamil melakukan groundbreaking Monumen Plaza Dr. (H.C.) Ir. H. Soekarno di GOR dan Taman Saparua, Bandung, Rabu pagi.Hasto selaku penasihat pembangunan Monumen Bung Karno ini menilai Kota Bandung memiliki sejarah khusus tentang Sang Proklamator RI.“Dari Bandung ini, pemikiran Bung Karno ini membentang dari society view bergerak ke national view dan worldwide view dan inilah cara pandang yang harusnya diwujudkan oleh para pemuda-pemuda Indonesia, khususnya Bandung ini,” kata Hasto dalam sambutannya di acara tersebut, Rabu.Sejumlah tokoh hadir di acara tersebut, yakni Penasihat Pembangunan yang juga Sekjen DPP PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto, Gubernur Jawa Barat Ridwan Kamil, Ketua DPD PDIP Jabar Ono Surono dan Sekretarisnya Ketut Sustiawan, Wakil Ketua DPRD Jabar Ineu Purwadewi Sundari, Bupati Bandung Barat Hengki Kurniawan Chova.
