PPIH Saudi Arabia Facilitates 240 Elderly Congregants And Disabilities To Carry Out Wukuf In Arafah

JAKARTA - Saudi Arabia's Hajj Organizing Officer (PPIH) in 1444 H/2023 M facilitated 240 elderly and disabled pilgrims in undergoing a wif safari in Arafah.

This is an effort by PPIH to protect and ensure the smooth running of the pilgrimage of pilgrims who have physical limitations. In the friendly and safe Wukuf Safari, the Saudi Arabian PPIH prepares transit hotels with special facilities and care for elderly and disabled pilgrims.

Chairman of PPIH Saudi Arabia 1444 H, Subhan Cholid, explained that this wuhkuf safari is part of their efforts to realize Hajj Friendly for the Elderly and Disabilities. With this facilitation, it is hoped that pilgrims who have limitations can carry out their pilgrimage properly and safely.

"We have prepared 1444 elderly and disabled pilgrims who fall into this category," explained the Chairman of PPIH Saudi Arabia H Subhan Cholid as reported by the Ministry of Religion website.

According to Subhan, this facilitation is an effort by PPIH to provide protection for the congregation as well as so that they can complete their pilgrimage.

"This is part of our efforts to make Hajj friendly for the elderly and disabled. So that those who have limitations, remain protected and can perform their pilgrimage well and safely," explained Subhan.

Before being inaugurated, these elderly pilgrims were gathered in five hotels in four areas. In Jarwal, a 904 A hotel with a capacity of 80 people was prepared. In Misfalah, there are 1113 hotels with a capacity of 40 people.

In the Syisah area, two hotels have been prepared, namely: 409 with 40 capacities, and 410 with 40 capacities. Meanwhile, in the Raudhah area, there is a hotel 709 with 40 capacities.

"Eating three times a day and snacks for them are also prepared. They will stay in transit hotels for a maximum of June 30, 2023," said Subhan.

"While at the transit hotel, they were accompanied by doctors, paramedics, worship guides, elderly service officers and disabilities. Routine health checks and light exercise will be carried out," he continued.

According to Subhan, the congregation will depart on 9 Zulhijah 1444 H/27 June 2023 AD starting at 11.00 Saudi Arabia time (WAS) to Arafah with six buses. Mobilization preparations will be carried out starting at 09.00 WAS. Each bus will be filled with a maximum of 40 worshipers in a sitting condition. Each bus will be escorted by nine officers, consisting of: road pointings, doctors, worship guides, paramedics, elderly services.

"There were 54 officers who escorted them. KKHI also alerted two ambulances, on call," he said.

For each congregation, Subhan continued, preparations include ihram cloth, mukena, toiletries, pampers, gloves, masks. PPIH Saudi Arabia has also prepared a number of wheelchairs, personal protective equipment (PPE), and cleaning equipment.

"Please pray for his blessing, may all Indonesian pilgrims be given health and can complete their pilgrimage. Amen," he asked about the implementation of the peak of the wukuf Hajj pilgrimage in the field of Arafah.
