The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police is investigating the alleged blasphemy case with the reported leadership of the Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School, Panji Gumilang. During the investigation process, the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) and the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) will be used as experts. "Of course later the expert witnesses will also involve the Ministry of Religion, the Director General of Islamic Community Guidance who will later be able to give gifts. Then from the MUI, then from religious figures who have understanding as the real Islamic teachings," said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Komjen Agus Andrianto, to reporters, Monday, June 26. Not only experts, the investigative team will of course also examine witnesses and the reporting party. Their information is needed as a basis to determine whether or not there is a crime in the report. Then, the examination process will lead to the Islamic Education Foundation which oversees the Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School. From the series of examinations, it will refer to the suspect. "Later, we will lead internally to the Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School Foundation and of course later it will lead to who is the suspect rather than the alleged criminal act of committing the blasphemy," he said. On the other hand, Agus stated that there was indeed an element of a criminal act that occurred in that case. However, the process of investigating and collecting evidence must still be carried out.
