Good News, Central PWI Processes Home Procurement Cooperation For Members

JAKARTA - The Central Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) is in the process of procuring housing facilities for journalists who do not have a house.

The housing procurement meeting was chaired by the General Chairperson of the Central PWI, Atal S Depari, on Wednesday, June 21 at the Central PWI office, the Press Council Building, Jalan Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta.

During the meeting, it was discussed the procurement of houses for PWI members and secretariats based in Jakarta and its surroundings, such as Tangerang, Bekasi, Depok, and Bogor.

The first stage of the location offered to members is around a train station in Tenjo, Bogor. Tenjo's distance from Tanah Abang is about 1 hour and 15 minutes, by train.

The procurement of PWI houses is in collaboration with experienced developers who open residential development areas around Tenjo station.

"We are ready to work with PWI to prepare subsidized houses," said Suwito, the housing developer of Puri Tenjo who was met by the Central PWI survey team, June 9, 2023.

"Residential housing is a very important need for life. Journalists should live in a habitable house, so that they live in peace, and experience quality rest so that they can work well," said Atal in a written statement received by voi.id Friday, June 23.

In various regions now there are also many houses with affordable prices, even subsidized by the government. "The possibility of cooperation like this is also carried out by PWI administrators in various regions," said Atal, who hopes that all wartwans have their own homes.

The house procurement meeting was attended by the Central PWI housing procurement team and the survey team. They include M. Nasir (Director of Welfare and Community Service of the Central PWI/Chairman of PWI Cares), Karim Paputungan (Chairman of Distribution of PWI Cares), Nurcholis MA Basyari (Chairman of Public Relations of PWI Cares), and Yusuf Susilo Hartono (Director of Communications and Public Relations of Central PWI).

Previously, Deputy Secretary General of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) Dr Suprapto Sastro Atmojo and Mercys Charles Loho (Humas PWI) together with a survey team from PWI Peduli and the PWI secretariat conducted a survey to the residential project location.

While measuring transportation access, the PWI survey team departed for the location by train from Tanah Abang station. After arriving at Tenjo station, the team walked to the residential project location.
