Again, Cases Of Child Sexual Violence Occur In Lampung, Minister Of Social Affairs Intervenes

BANDARLAMPUNG - Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Tri Rismaharini said that his party would provide psychological assistance to children who are victims of sexual harassment in Central Lampung Regency, Lampung Province.

"I just this morning before going to Lampung received information about this (case of child abuse) and wanted to meet directly with the victim and her mother," said Social Minister Risma, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 22.

By looking at the condition of the victim and the victim's mother, according to him, his party will provide psychological assistance.

"We will carry out psychological assistance with the Central Lampung Police. Because after talking, it looks like there is a deep traumatic on the victim's mother and victim," he said.

He said the two would be accompanied by psychologists. In addition, there will also be a health check.

"We will check it thoroughly, after that, we will immediately see suggestions from psychologists about the condition of the two. In addition, there is also a medical examination, so that both of them can recover from trauma," he said.

In addition to providing psychological assistance, Social Minister Risma also promised to pay off debts and help the victim's mother make a business.

"Incidentally, the victim's mother always leaves because she has to work to pay off her debt, and this incident happened. Therefore, I promise to help pay off her debt and help make a business," he said.

He hopes that with the assistance to make an independent business, the victim's mother can have more time to accompany her child.

"There are two perpetrators. The police are ready to follow up, and I entrust the security of the victim's child and his family to the authorities. I also thank the village head who encouraged the victim's mother to dare to report the incident to the police," he said.

Previously, there had been cases of sexual harassment against a 17-year-old child in Central Lampung Regency by two of his stepfathers.

The incident of sexual abuse against children occurred in 2019 when the victim was in junior high school (SMP) by her first stepfather. Then the second incident took place in March 2023 by the second stepfather, when the victim's mother was working.
