Hoarding Subsidized Fertilizer And Limiting Buyers, Shop Owners In Karanganyar Arrested By Police

JAKARTA - The Karanganyar Police Criminal Investigation Unit has succeeded in uncovering a case of selling subsidized urea fertilizer without holding a license from an official distributor. Two perpetrators with the initials MY (39) and KY (43) were arrested in this case.

Kasat Reskrim Karanganyar Police, AKP Tegar Satrio Wicaksono said, MY is a resident of Popongan Village, Karanganyar Regency and KY (43) a resident of Wonogiri.

"The two of them are currently being held at the Karanganyar Police Headquarters for legal proceedings," said Tegar Satrio, as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 26.

The disclosure of this case began with reports of farmers who felt that there was a shortage of urea fertilizer in the Popongan Karanganyar Village area on December 19, 2020. The investigation began by examining the witnesses and the agricultural shop belonging to MY perpetrators in Popongan Village.

Apart from the community, the police also received information from the local Agriculture Service. MY Agricultural Shop has distributed subsidized fertilizers which are not official retailers or Complete Retail Stalls (KPL) appointed by the official fertilizer distributor in Karanganyar.

MY perpetrators were secured. After being investigated, the fertilizer was apparently obtained from KY actors, residents of Wonogiri. The evidence found by officers from MY was in the form of a receipt for the sale of subsidized fertilizers dated December 20, 2020. Then the money was worth IDR 185 thousand as payment for one sack of government-subsidized urea fertilizer containing 50 kg.

"Then 11 sacks of government subsidized urea fertilizer each measuring 50 kg, and 2 sacks of government subsidized Phonska fertilizer measuring 50 kg," he said.

MY perpetrator admitted that the government subsidized urea fertilizer was sold per 50 kg sack worth IDR 185,000. The price of subsidized fertilizers according to the highest retail price (HET) of urea for IDR 1,800 / kg, SP-36 fertilizer IDR 2,000 / kg, ZA fertilizer IDR 1,400 / kg, NPK fertilizer IDR 2,300 / kg, special formula NPK fertilizer IDR 3,000 / kg, and organic fertilizer IDR 500 / kg.

"The perpetrator's mode of selling subsidized fertilizers without an official permit from this distributor is to seek profit from sales. He only sells orders, and is not sold openly or publicly,"

"We are still investigating this case, there are other actors who are suspected of distributing subsidized fertilizers, but without holding a license from an official distributor in Karanganyar," he said.
