Japanese Emperor Naruhito on Thursday visited Borobudur Temple in Magelang Regency, Central Java Province. The Japanese Emperor climbed up to the ninth floor of Borobudur Temple and was on the upper floor of the temple for about 30 minutes.The education staff of Mura Aristina Museum and Cultural Conservation after guiding Emperor Naruhito on the Borobudur Temple explained that the Emperor only climbed up to the ninth floor because the 10th floor of Borobudur Temple was devoted to worship. "We explain that the top floor or 10th floor is specifically for worship and he is very understanding and respecting," said Mura, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 21. He also explained why the Borobudur Temple was built in a hill area adjacent to the river. "There was a meeting of the Elo and Progo River, the stone in the river was brought here to build a temple," he said. According to him, Emperor Naruhito had time to photograph several reliefs of Borobudur Temple using a cell phone camera. Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo, who accompanied Emperor Naruhito, said that the Emperor was very happy to hear an explanation from the guide regarding Borobudur Temple. "There was even selfie-selfie," he said. In addition, Ganjar said that the visit of the Japanese Emperor to Indonesia for seven days showed good relations between Japan and Indonesia.
