Fake TNI Major In West Aceh Arrested By Police

The West Aceh Police have arrested a fake TNI member with the rank of major with the initials MI (47), a resident of a housing complex in Peunaga Paya Village, Meureubo District, West Aceh Regency.

"We have named the perpetrator as a suspect, after previously being secured by residents for his disturbing activities," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the West Aceh Police, Iptu Fachmi Suciandy, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 21.

He said that the activity allegedly carried out by the MI suspect was that the perpetrators carried out activities to quote donations to the community, and claimed to be administrators of the mosque in Alue Panyareng Village, Meureubo District, West Aceh Regency.

After checking, it turned out that the mosque recognized by the suspect MI as the administrator was not found, aka fictitious.

Before being handed over to the West Aceh Police, the suspect MI was previously handed over by residents to the Meureubo Koramil, West Aceh Regency.

The suspect was handed over to the TNI because previously in the perpetrator's bag there was a sharp weapon in the form of a knife type sikur, a match gun, and a photo of the perpetrator wearing a TNI uniform with the rank of major.

Because the person concerned is not a member of the TNI, then MI is handed over to the police to account for his actions.

Iptu Fachmy Suciandy said the suspect MI was charged with Article 12 of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1959 for possession of sharp weapons, with a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
