Jokowi Calls The Launch Of SATRIA-1 For Digital Infrastructure Equity In Indonesia

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that the launch of the Republic of Indonesia 1 (SATRIA-1) Satellite is the government's effort to equalize the development of digital public service infrastructure.

"The launch of SATRIA-1 is one of our efforts in equitable development of digital infrastructure in public service centers throughout Indonesia," Jokowi said on his Instagram account, @jokowi, Monday, June 19.

SATRIA 1 satellite launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, United States (US), Sunday 18 June at around 18.21 local time.

After finishing, the satellite will go straight to orbit 146 degrees east longitude or above the sky of Papua. It is estimated that the SATRIA 1 Satellite will be in position in November 2023.

President Jokowi said the SATRIA-1 Satellite is the government's first multifunctional satellite with the largest capacity in Asia.
