JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office responded to the willingness of former Minister of Communication and Information (Mekominfo) Johnny G Plate to become a justice collaborator in a case of alleged corruption in the provision of Base Tranceiver Station (BTS) infrastructure and supporting infrastructure for the 2020-2022 period.

Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) of the Attorney General's Office Ketut Sumedana invited Johnny G Plate to apply as a justice collaborator to the public prosecutor.

"Please just submit it to the public prosecutor," said Sumedana as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 13.

Regarding the mechanism to become a justice collaborator, said Ketut, later the public prosecutor will consider whether the request should be recommended to the panel of judges who handle and lead the trial.

According to him, if Johnny G Plate's application as a justice collaborator is accepted by the panel of judges, then later he will get leniency.

"Later it will be assessed and considered whether it is necessary to recommend to the panel of judges handling the case, later in obtaining leniency," said Ketut.

Previously, Johny G Plate stated that he was willing to become a justice collaborator in the alleged corruption case in the provision of 4G Base Transceiver Station (BTS) infrastructure and supporting infrastructure for packages 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 BAKTI of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology from 2020 to 2022.

According to Achmad Cholidin, Johnny G Plate's lawyer, Monday, his client will work together to reveal as wide as possible by competent parties, who are aware of the occurrence of criminal acts as he suspects in Article 2 and Article 3 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.

In this case, apart from Johnny, six other people were named as suspects, namely the President Director of Bakti Anang Achmad Latif (AAL); President Director of PT Mora Telematics Indonesia Gapok Menak (GMS); Human Development Expert (HUDEV) Universitas Indonesia 2020 Yohan Suryanto (YS); and Mukti Ali (MA), as Account Director of Integrated Account of Department of PT Huawei Tech Investment (HWI); and Irwan Hermawan (IH), as Commissioner of PT Solittech Media Sinergy.
