JAKARTA - PT Transjakarta has opened its voice about complaints from a number of passengers about the shortening of the L13E bus route on the Puri Beta-Kuningan route which has only been changed since a few days ago.

Previously, the route L13E Puri Beta - Kuningan passed the Ministry of Health, GOR Sumantri, Karet Kuningan, Kuningan Madya, North Setiabudi, Laturhahari to Halimun. Starting May 29, 2023, there will be changes in routes to Kuningan Barat.

If passengers want to continue their journey towards Latuharhari, they must transit from the Kuningan Barat Bus Stop to the Kuningan Timur Bus Stop. From Kuningan Timur, there is Corridor 6 Ragunan-Dukuh Atas, route 6A Ragunan - MH Thamrin via Kuningan, and route 6M Blok M-Manggarai Manggarai Station.

Transjakarta Director of Operations and Safety Daud Joseph views that the shortening of the L13E route which causes many passengers to transit between stops is not a problem.

"Some Transjakarta customers have to get used to transiting. Why? transit is not only beneficial for them. But it is also beneficial for the provincial government. If we don't cultivate transit, all of these routes will be direct routes, direct routes, so they are narrowed," Joseph told reporters, Thursday, June 8.

According to him, if there are many Transjakarta routes that are narrowed, the burden of transportation subsidy expenditure (public service obligation) issued by the APBD will swell.

"We must prevent it together. Do not let the cost of subsidies be too large. So that later it will reduce the level of service held," said Joseph.

Moreover, Joseph continued, his party also said that it had increased the travel frequency of the L13E Puri Beta-Kuningan bus route.

From this additional frequency, according to him, the bus will quickly return to Puri Beta, thereby minimizing the queues of waiting customers.

"It's quite effective. From the Ciledug area there, we will see if it is transported or all customers are in accordance with our headway standards. If every morning it departs every 5 minutes. If for example on the off pick hour or during quiet hours, it's 10 minutes once," he explained.
