4 Clean Water Tank Trucks Alerted In Cianjur To Face Drought That Is Estimated To Be Dryer Than Last Year

JABAR - The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Cianjur has alerted four clean water tanker trucks to face the arrival of the dry season. Currently, the tanker truck is used for the distribution of clean water for residents who survived the Cianjur earthquake.

Head of PMI Cianjur Headquarters, Hasan Fauzi said this preparation followed BMKG's estimate that this dryness would be drier than the previous year.

"To this day seven months after the 5.6 magnitude earthquake rocked Cianjur, PMI is still serving the distribution of clean water for residents in a number of villages who have lost clean water sources, including facing the dry season, we have prepared four tank trucks," he said in Cianjur, West Java, Tuesday, June 6, which was confiscated by Antara.

The central PMI assistance clean water tank, said Hasan, will serve the distribution of clean water to a number of affected areas during the dry season in coordination with Perumdam Cianjur, a water supply provider.

His party noted that the north, east and parts of the south are areas prone to drought when the dry season arrives, so to anticipate that his party is also alerting dozens of volunteers who are ready to distribute clean water when needed.

"PMI Cianjur volunteers are always prepared to help residents' difficulties, including providing humanitarian services when natural disasters occur such as floods and landslides, as well as providing clean water services during the dry season," he said.

Not only clean water tank services, he added, PMI Cianjur also provides fogging or absorption services as an effort to anticipate the spread of dengue fever during the rainy season to dry season for residents in various regions.

"Since the last few weeks, we have also received a lot of requests for fogging, because during the changing seasons there is a dengue fever," he said.
