The Ministry Of Industry Affirms That It Will Not Give Recommendations For Used KRL Imports

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) Febri Hendri Antoni Arif emphasized that his party still did not provide recommendations for imports of used electric rail (KRL) as the results of the review of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).

"If the import of the used KRL, the Ministry of Industry still adheres to the results of coordination with the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, it is still the reference that the BPKP review is the reference," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 31.

Febri said this was also in line with the direction of the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) as well as the Head of the National Team for the Increase in the Use of Domestic Products (P3DN) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, who is supporting domestic production.

"As far as we remember, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries directed by domestic production," he said.

Febri ensures that domestic industries are ready and able to produce the mass transportation fleet.

Instead of imports, the Ministry of Industry asked PT KCI to be able to improve the management of the train channel and passengers. According to him, the problem of the accumulation of passengers that is complained about should be improved in the KCI managerial system.

"I am a train kid, I understand that. KCI please fix it. There are several series that must be regulated by the management of the passenger flow, the train flow," he said.

Febri said that basically the Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita and the Ministry of Industry are ready to carry out the direction of the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.

"If our former import KRL has not issued a permit, we are still holding on to the results of the coordination meeting of the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries that the results of the BPKP review state that there is no need to import used KRL, are still so far," said Febri.
