Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo said the growth of entrepreneurs in Indonesia was still quite low. For this reason, he encouraged the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) to accompany and teach young entrepreneurs to grow.

"HiPMI friends who are gathering can encourage, teach, and assist young entrepreneurs to grow. New startups and entrepreneurs because we are still in very small positions, there is no 4 percent yet," said Ganjar after attending the Central Java HIPMI halal event at the Gradhika Bhakti Praja Building, Monday, May 29.

Based on data received by Ganjar Pranowo, Indonesia still lacks entrepreneurs. Currently, the growth of entrepreneurs in Indonesia is still 4 percent. In fact, a country is said to be good, when the number of entrepreneurs who appear is at least 14 percent. In fact, at the ASEAN level, Indonesia ranks fifth behind Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines.

"We need at least 14 percent of young entrepreneurs. HIPMI has great experience. Maybe HIPMI can assist entrepreneurs or young entrepreneurs to continue to grow or to create creative hubs and networks," he said.

Related to this, Ganjar underlined the latest program driven by Central Java HIPMI by inaugurating HIPMI in Islamic boarding schools. The movement, according to Ganjar, can run together with the Central Java Province program initiated by Deputy Governor Taj Yasin Maimoen, namely Ekotren. Previously, Central Java's HIPMI had also held a Higher Education HIPMI.

"I'm happy because there was a program from HIPMI. This is in collaboration with students at universities, now preparing at Islamic boarding schools. In the past, the Deputy Governor had prepared a good program, the Ecotren. We will move the economy in Islamic boarding schools. Today they can co-exist and cooperate with HIPMI, of course, there are many lessons that can be learned," explained Ganjar Pranowo.

Through the program owned by HIPMI, Ganjar hopes that entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs will continue to increase. Entrepreneurs who join HIPMI are expected to be able to share their knowledge with entrepreneurs who are pioneering. So, hopefully, economic independence can be created.

"So we can share. Yes, mentally as an entrepreneur, yes, learn bookkeeping, yes learn managerial functions so that later we hope that more youths will emerge to become more entrepreneurs. Moreover, we need to be independent from an economic perspective, so we need to create more entrepreneurs," he explained.

Chairman of the Central Java HIPMI, Rudy Prasetiyo, said that the establishment of HIPMI in Islamic boarding schools was aimed at advancing the economy in Islamic boarding schools. Previously, HIPMI had also formed a higher education HIPMI.

"We want to synergize and young entrepreneurs are ready to oversee the Indonesian economy," he said.

Likewise, the Chairman of the DPP HIPMI, Akbar Himawan Buchari, said that Indonesia's current economic growth is the result of downstreaming and digitization. He hopes that downstreaming will continue to spread to small industries and smelters. Then, the current growth of MSMEs is the result of digitalization.
