South Sumatra Police Turn To Prepare RW Police To Guard Kamtibmas

PALEMBANG - The South Sumatra Police have prepared the community unit police (RW) to maintain good security and public order (kamtibmas) so far.

"The RW Police are a program from the police to maintain security and public order with a regional basis," said Director of Binmas Polda Sumsel Kombes Sofyan Hidayat in Palembang as reported by ANTARA, Friday, May 26.

He explained, in general, the formation of the RW police collaborated with the work of Bhabinkamtibmas which had long been formed and running, including resolving minor cases, residents' disputes and having dialogues with residents regarding all problems.

The RW police are tasked with partnering with the community, detecting security early, educating security and social problems.

"Later on, the RW police will communicate and consolidate with the head of the RW, including together with local community leaders so that things that have the potential to cause disturbances to the kamtibmas can be prevented," he said.

According to him, the RW police were also directed to carry out their duties and functions to help the Baharkam Polri Korbinmas carry out community development functions.

Through the determination of the function of community development, it is hoped that the community will be created from villages, cities/regencies that are safe, peaceful, and peaceful, by involving all police functions in the regional police, police/polrestabes to the police station.

"In addition, the RW police are expected to help prevent forest, land and plantation fires (karhutlabun) every dry season by educating the public," said the Director of Binmas Polda South Sumatra.
