Allegedly Pickpockets, Officers Secure A Waniata At Tanah Abang Station

JAKARTA - A woman continued to struggle when she was secured by Commuter Line train officers on the Tanah Abang - Parung Panjang Station route at Tanah Abang Station, Tanah Abang District, Central Jakarta.

It was later discovered that the perpetrator was caught pickpocketing in a series of train carriages. The incident was recorded by an amateur camera by other passengers and went viral on social media. The perpetrator was arrested after being shouted at by two Commuter Line train passengers.

External Relations & Corporate Image Care KAI Commuter Leza Arlan confirmed that there was a pickpocketing incident at Tanah Abang Station.

"The alleged perpetrator is a woman who is suspected of stealing a cellphone belonging to another user. The alleged perpetrator has been arrested and questioned for the actions taken," said Leza Arlan when confirmed by VOI, Friday, May 26.

From the results of the examination by the security officers at Tanah Abang Station, the perpetrator admitted that he had committed the theft.

"The incident on Thursday night at around 19.15 WIB at Commuter Line 2136 (Tanahabang-Parungpanjang). After acknowledging his actions, the alleged perpetrator was handed over to the Tanah Abang Metro Police," he said.

Leza appealed to users to remain vigilant and care about the surrounding environment when using Commuter Line.

"Immediately report any suspicious actions to the officers," he said.
