70 Joint Officers Of Foreign Exchange In Ancol Area Apartments

Around 70 officers from the Joint Foreigner Monitoring Team (PORA) from elements of the North Jakarta Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) raided foreign nationals (WNA) who occupied an apartment in the Ancol area, Pademangan.

Eight teams from elements of the TNI, Police, Attorney General's Office, North Jakarta Regional State Intelligence Agency to the North Jakarta City Government joined the North Jakarta TPI Class I Immigration Office officers to comb 25 rooms in the four apartment towers (power).

"These 25 rooms are suspected to have foreign nationals whose whereabouts we will record," said Head of the Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement Section of the Class I Immigration Office of North Jakarta TPI Bong Bong Prakoso Napitupulu, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 24.

Bong Bong said that the activities of the PORA Team this time were based on directions from the Directorate General of Immigration to strengthen the duties and functions of law enforcement against foreigners who violate the rules and disturb public order.

Given the many news that foreigners violated the law in the North Jakarta area, one of which was a Nigerian man who abused two grandmothers in an apartment in the Kelapa Gading area, North Jakarta, Friday (5/5) night, then officers from the Class I Immigration Office of TPI North Jakarta will check every residence permit for foreigners who are in their working area.

In this activity, the Head of the Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Division of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of DKI Jakarta, Telmaizul Syatri, asked for the raid on foreigners to be carried out in a humane, professional and far from arrogance.

"I ask that this activity can be carried out as well as possible, professionally, according to procedures, because we are monitored by the community. Here there are also colleagues from the media who will participate," said Syatri.

Joint operations began by deploying PORA Team officers to each side of the apartment tower in the Ancol area, Pademangan, North Jakarta, using three vehicles and three official cars from the Class I Immigration Office in North Jakarta. When they arrived at the location, officers immediately combed through the alleys of each apartment tower in two teams consisting of eight to nine people. They then went to 25 rooms that had been targeted for operation based on data from informants. A number of foreigners caught in the operation will be taken to the apartment management room to record the completeness of the documents and registered in the surveillance system of Foreigners of the Class I Immigration Office of TPI North Jakarta. There were six foreigners from China who were netted from the C tower of the Ancol apartment area, Pademangan, North Jakarta. Four of them were men and two more women. Before being recorded, they were shown a letter of assignment, identification sign and also conveyed the purpose and purpose of arrival by the North Jakarta TPI Class I Immigration Office officer. The foreign China wanted to be escorted to show immigration documents such as visa passports, to the Temporary Stay Permit Card (KITAS) they had.

After that, some Chinese foreigners took the officers to the room they occupied. The rest were taken to the apartment management room to be registered in the North Jakarta TPI Class I Immigration Office surveillance system.

However, there are also foreigners who cannot show complete documents until they are proven to have exceeded their stay permit in Indonesia (overstay) when officers recorded their data. Bong Bong said, currently the number of foreigners is 35 people.

They were caught by officers while hiding in the room. Based on their characteristics, the 35 foreigners are thought to have come from African territory.

According to Bong Bong, 10 of them were able to show documents and were proven "overstay", 25 more people were unable to show their documents and were strongly suspected of being "overstay" based on the confession and brief interview of officers at the raid location.

"Furthermore, the foreigner will be examined further at the Class I Immigration Office of TPI North Jakarta. If it is proven 'overstay', the sanctions imposed are deportation and deterrence," said Bong Bong.
