The Vice President Did Not Question The Office Of The Ministry Of Social Affairs Searched By The KPK

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin said the search conducted by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) at the Ministry of Social Affairs would not be a problem if there were allegations of corruption in social assistance suspected to have occurred there.

"If there are irregularities, there are parties who do have the task of doing that (examination or search). I don't think there will be any problem if there is something suspected, until the data is correct or incorrect," said the Vice President, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 24.

The Vice President emphasized that the government itself continues to improve the corruption prevention system and continuously supervise the implementation or distribution of social assistance.

Previously, on Tuesday, May 23, the KPK searched the Ministry of Social Affairs office in Jakarta, in the context of investigating the alleged corruption case in the distribution of social assistance in 2020.

According to the latest information, the Corruption Eradication Commission investigators confiscated a number of documents and electronic evidence after the search.

"During the search process, evidence was found and secured, including various documents and electronic evidence," said Head of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) News Section Ali Fikri in Jakarta, Wednesday.

Ali said the evidence found during a search on Tuesday (23/5) afternoon was currently being studied by the investigative team to be included in the case file.

"Immediate analysis and confiscation will be carried out to complete the filing of the case," he said.
